Network of smart devices ensures safe water supply in Zala county

After successful testing, more people can enjoy the benefits of IoT technology implemented by Zalavíz Zrt.

Zalavíz has installed smart meters at 1,500 points of consumption to date and plans to roll out the program to cover 10,000 additional sites. The Internet of Things (IoT) solution comprising devices and a customized mobile network enables the utility company to detect failures faster and prevent consumer damage and complaints. In addition to protecting drinking water supply, the new solution also plays an important role in the water company’s billing and customer management activities.

Nationwide survey: children’s homes are undersupported despite the fact that nearly 25,000 children removed from their families live in them

One in two Hungarians regularly donate and volunteer, and most of them prefer supporting animal shelters, concluded Telenor’s representative survey about Hungarian donation habits. Children living in children’s homes were marked as their most supported target group by only 18% of respondents despite the fact that Hungary has about 25,000 children and youth in state care, removed from their families. Stable and safe human relationships play an especially important role in their lives. This Christmas, Telenor highlights the importance of this issue with the moving story of The Little Match girl with a new ending created by writer György Dragomán. Digital Springboard: schools of disadvantaged communities can apply for digital education devices and training again

A total budget of HUF 10 million and free training courses

The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid and Telenor have again announced the Digital Springboard program targeted at educational institutions serving disadvantaged communities. The schools submitting a bid to to the tender held for the second time can apply for digital devices worth HUF 2 million per school. In addition to the total budget of HUF 10 million, the teachers of winning educational institutions will also be enrolled in a 30-hour accredited online HiperSuli Digital Methodology Training.

Hungarians plan to spend nearly HUF 60,000 on Christmas gifts this year

Telenor conducts nationwide representative survey on Hungarian’s festive consumption and communication habits

Although the pandemic has made most Hungarians more price sensitive, they plan to spend HUF 59,000 on Christmas gifts on average which is slightly more than last year, concluded Telenor’s nationwide representative survey [1]. The survey about Hungarian’s Christmas plans revealed that four out of ten people spend less time with their friends and family than they would like to and they plan to catch up during Christmas.  If they cannot meet a loved one in person, most of them call them on their mobile.
