 About the Yettel Smartwatch plan

 About the Yettel Mini plan

With Yettel's new digital solution, in addition to the features offered by a physical SIM card, you can make staying in touch even easier with your eSIM-enabled device.*

Thanks to advances in technology, the new-generation eSIM is gaining ground in the world of telecommunications. eSIMs offer a number of advantages over the nano SIM, the smallest physical SIM currently available.

With eSIM-enabled devices, you no longer need to insert a traditional card. You can simply activate a QR code to use your eSIM-enabled devices, mobile phones, tablets and smart accessories such as smart watches.**

eSIMs are now also available for our retail customers.

Why should I use an eSIM?

You can set it up in just a few simple steps. All you need is an active internet connection.
Using an eSIM reduces the amount of plastic used and e-waste generated, which would pollute the planet even more.

It cannot be removed from the phone even if the device is stolen, meaning that its exact location can be tracked.

You can avoid the inconvenience of losing or damaging your physical SIM. You won’t have any more problems with physical cards of different sizes when switching devices.
You can now use an eSIM as the first or even second SIM in your iPhone, as long as your device allows it.

An eSIM can perform all the same functions as a traditional plastic SIM card (standard, micro and nano SIMs), but the biggest difference is that eSIM cards are inserted into devices. eSIMs take up less space than physical SIMs, so phone manufacturers can save on the size of the phone or increase the battery capacity. eSIM connections are more secure and durable. They reduce plastic consumption. An eSIM also offers a higher level of security than a physical SIM, as the path to the data file is always encrypted and cannot be accessed until downloaded to the chip.

Activation is only possible with an internet connection. We recommend activating your eSIM while connected to a Wi-Fi network. Activation may involve some data traffic.

Submitting a device for repair:
When fixing a faulty device, any active eSIMs in the device must be deactivated. To use the replacement devices provided by Yettel, we exchange the eSIM included in your Yettel subscription for a physical SIM card free of charge.

Collecting the device:
After repair if you want to continue using our services with an eSIM, please let us know when you pick up your device and we will exchange your physical SIM card for an eSIM free of charge.

The original PIN and PUK codes for the eSIM are available on your eSIM paper-based card, as well as in the Yettel Account and via Yettel's written, telephone and in-person channels.

For the sake of easier setup, eSIMs have the PIN code prompt disabled so they can be used without it by default. This is commonly pre-set for security purposes for physical SIM cards. The eSIM PIN code prompt can be turned back on if needed.

You can set the PIN code prompt in your device settings.

Yes, but the maximum number of eSIM cards that can be activated depends on the type of device.

For network-dependent devices, only the eSIM of the operator can be activated. For unlocked devices, the number of eSIM cards that can be activated depends on the type of device.

The ICC identifier can be found on your eSIM paper-based card or in the "Settings" menu for certain devices. You can also ask for it via all Yettel customer service contact channels.

You can get the phone number associated with your eSIM profile by contacting any Yettel customer service channel with the 16-digit ICC code of your eSIM card.

You can activate your eSIM immediately after receipt, but it may take up to 72 hours to activate the associated subscription.

An internet connection is required to download your eSIM profile. Make sure you are connected to the internet and try the download again. If you are still unable to download your profile, please contact our customer support team via any channel and report your complaint.

The EID is the identification number associated with a particular device. You can find it in your device settings.

For security reasons, as long as the eSIM is activated for the device, it cannot be activated with the QR code for any other device.

The eSIM transfer process:
1. Get the card with your eSIM activation code ready
2. Deactivate the eSIM in the settings menu of the old device
3. Make sure your new device has an active internet access or connect to A Wi-Fi network
4. Activate the eSIM on your new device using the eSIM activation code

Security

The eSIM activation code is unique and can only be used on one device at a time. This makes an eSIM just as secure as a traditional SIM card.

Please immediately report any theft or loss using one of the contact details below:

Smartwatch

You can do this with the corresponding app that you can download from Google Play or the Appstore. For Samsung smartwatches, you can use the Galaxy Wearable app, while for XPLORA kids' watches it can be activated via the XPLORA app.

Samsung Galaxy smartwatches can be paired with Android devices running Android 6.0 or higher, and for iPhones, from iPhone 5 onwards, with devices running iOS 9.0 or higher. With Samsung Gear smartwatches, and iPhone 6S and 6S+ devices running iOS 10 or higher, the Bluetooth connection may be unstable.

You can activate the eSIM on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic with Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 6.0 or higher with 1.5 GB of RAM or more, after downloading the Galaxy Wear app. Activation on other brands of Android devices is not guaranteed. Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic smartwatches are not compatible with iOS devices.

If eSIM activation fails, check the Galaxy Wear app under Software Update to see if an update is available. If it is, install it on your watch (Wi-Fi connection required) and then activate the eSIM. Yettel’s eSIM can only be activated on Galaxy Watch smartwatches with the latest software.

You can remove the eSIM profile in the XPLORA application, under the Delete watch menu. Important! After the eSIM profile has been removed, the QR code used up until that point cannot be used in another device (phone, tablet or smartwatch), although the subscription and phone number associated with the eSIM will not be cancelled. To reactivate, you need to request a new eSIM profile, which you can do at our personal customer service points or online at Yettel.hu/online-ugyintezes/kartyacsere.  The phone number associated with your eSIM profile will not change.
