Yettel once again among Hungary’s best employers

Telecoms company achieves outstanding results at international level

In 2026, Yettel was named among Hungary’s best employers for the third time, an achievement that also stands out at international level. The TOP Employers Institute evaluated the company’s outstanding employer practices, including processes supporting employee engagement, a strong compensation package, a feedback-driven culture, and the work environment, confirming Yettel’s strong employer position in the labour market.

For the third consecutive year, Yettel was recognised as one of Hungary’s best employers based on the 2026 audit of the independent international Top Employers Institute. The global institution’s certification provides companies with an objective international benchmark for outstanding employer practices, while the evaluation helps shape HR strategy and define longer-term goals. Within the company group, in addition to the Hungarian subsidiary, Yettel Bulgaria also earned the certification. This year, a total of 21 companies from Hungary made the list.

Yettel’s developments in 2025 were primarily driven by the goal of improving organisational performance. As a result, compared to last year’s assessment, the company’s achieved an improvement of around 20 percentage points in employer branding, recruitment, onboarding, and organisational culture. In several areas – including employee engagement processes, a strong compensation package, a feedback-driven culture, and the work environment – Yettel significantly outperformed the average score of certified companies.

Thanks to its wide range of initiatives, the company stands out in the Hungarian market. Its benefits package combines robust, continuously evolving elements with a strong community safety net and genuine opportunities for employee recharge. In addition to competitive base pay, the company places strong emphasis on the rapid introduction of new, employee-friendly solutions. Supporting family roles is a priority: under its parental leave policy, the co-parent is entitled to 20 additional working days during the critical early period, while new grandparents receive 5 extra working days of leave. The company also pays special attention to employees facing difficult circumstances: the Solidarity Fund – built from colleagues’ voluntary contributions – provides fast, one-off financial support in unexpected life situations. In addition, employees are granted an extra one-month sabbatical after every five years of service, which has been shown to boost motivation and creativity.

New competencies and new ways of working are driving the market

Currently undergoing a transformation, the mobile operator faced several challenges in 2025, that accelerated the adoption of new competencies and new ways of working.

“We are moving from a traditional telecommunications company towards a digital challenger position. This involves a growing headcount, new roles and their integration, while the fast rapid emergence of AI requires us to provide our colleagues with the knowledge, tools, and motivation they need,” said Enikő Szalai, Chief HR Officer at Yettel. Commenting on the Top Employers certification, she added: “We are proud of every recognition, but this data-driven audit, conducted over several months in an international field, is particularly important to us, as it confirms our colleagues’ achievements and our strong employer presence in the labour market.”

In 2026, Yettel will focus on further strengthening learning and development as well as employer branding. In addition, the company is preparing to ensure HR compliance with the AI Act to be introduced this summer, as well as with the EU pay transparency requirements coming into force in June, which will fundamentally reshape HR processes.
