Number porting is fast, easy and free - Telenor welcomes new customers who want to port their numbers with discounts

Customers wishing to switch operators keeping their old phone number can have their number ported free of charge, with one-stop shopping in a few days’ time. As part of Telenor’s new year offer, the provider exempt customers from their first monthly fee if they commit to a Telenor Blue+ tariff when porting their number. In addition, they are offered a selection of smartphones available for HUF 0.

Mobile number portability has been available in Hungary since 2004 but many people are still not aware of how simple this process is. A number can be ported free of charge in a few days’ time after filing a request with the new operator. Telenor gathered the most important things to know about number portability and its administration at the webpage www.telenor.hu/szamhordozas.

Some tips to ensure smooth number porting

•   number porting can be initiated by the owner of the subscription only,
•   the customer should not have unpaid invoices overdue by more than 30 days,
•   the customer’s data should correspond to the data registered with their previous operator and shown on their ID documents.

Under the promotion running until 28 February 2019, customers will be exempted from the first monthly fee if they port their number to Telenor buying one of the Telenor Blue+ postpaid tariffs launched last autumn with a commitment. Those who also need a new handset are offered a Samsung Galaxy J6, a Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 or a Nokia 7.1 smartphone for HUF 0 until 1 February with select Telenor Blue+ tariffs and a 2-year commitment.
