Students from Miskolc and Jászapáti win Yettel ProSuli’s National Robotics Competition

Their skills will be put to the test at one of the world’s largest student robotics events this autumn

The national robotics competition of the Yettel ProSuli program has concluded, with the finals held at the Yettel House in Törökbálint on 15 April, following four regional qualifying rounds. The secondary school competition, which featured 50 teams, was won by KANDÓ from MSZC Kandó Kálmán Informatikai Technikum from Miskolc. Team members were László Szászfai, Dávid Orosz and Benedek Juhász, with Csaba Deák as their teacher. In the primary school category, the team Two Aces took first place, representing Gróf Széchenyi István Catholic Primary School of Jászapáti. Team members were Zalán Ádám and Marcel Ariel Semsey, with Krisztina Fülöp Kovács as their teacher.

The theme of this year’s competition was sensor line tracking, and the tasks required not only technical knowledge but also algorithmic thinking, creativity and teamwork. The LEGO robot controlled by the team from Miskolc completed 4 laps in 116.3 seconds in the finals, while the robot of the Jászapáti students completed 5 laps in 113 seconds.

The challenge, however, did not end with the students’ victory. Their teams will have the chance to prove their skills at an even higher level this autumn. The students have qualified for one of the world’s largest student robotics events, Robotex International, where they will represent Hungary at the competition to be held in Estonia in the autumn.
