Applications are invited: Telenor and Hello Wood build community spaces

Two applications to be implemented in support of small communities

Be it a stage, a jetty, a playground or a dog obstacle course, a common space can mean a lot to a community whose members share the same hobby, the same sport or support the same good cause. Telenor and Hello Wood, a team of artists known for their unique wooden structures and installations, are announcing an application programme for small communities titled “Együtt/tér” (Together/Space) to facilitate the implementation of wooden community spaces.

For the Együtt/tér project, Telenor and Hello Wood invite applicants who want to build their own community space for their small community and create value together with the organizers. Whether the community is united by sports, leisure activities or a hobby and they need a stage, a covered jetty or a cool dog obstacle course, they should seize the opportunity and submit their applications. The organizers also welcome ideas from applicants who want to join forces to promote a good cause rather than support their own community.

An inspiring example

The first such community space was already created in a pilot project. In the pilot, the partners constructed a covered grandstand for amateur sports club Fehérvár Rugby Club. The club training mostly junior players but having also men’s and women’s adult teams was established 30 years ago and is fuelled by members’ love of sports. They organize many programmes with fans, families and friends also outside training sessions and matches helping young people be part of a powerful community. They teach one another on how to work together for their community. The club has already built a locker room and a club house partly using their own funds and volunteer work by members. They’ve also actively contributed to the construction of the grandstand in a joint project with Telenor and Hello Wood. To learn more about Fehérvár Rugby Club and the construction of the new grandstand, please watch this video.

Applications are invited from communities all over the country

Applications submitted to the Együtt/tér website (https://teretadunk.telenor.hu/) by 7 June 2019 will be evaluated by the joint jury panel of Telenor and Hello Wood. The two winning communities will get support from the partners in implementing their desired wooden installations in June.

The application programme was inspired by Telenor’s ongoing campaign about being better together. Until 16 July, Telenor’s postpaid consumers with a public voice tariff who refer their friends to sign a Telenor Blue+ contract with Telenor can choose between a handset discount of HUF 15,000 or a monthly Hipernet data ticket of 100GB for 5 months given both to the referrer and the referred. For more details please visit Telenor’s website.
