Every postpaid Yettel customer can use the “Throw a Gig” service to send 1GB of data each month to another Yettel user, free of charge, and without reducing their own data allowance. Until now, the gig-gifting feature was only available from postpaid to prepaid, but from now on, the free 1GB of data can also be sent to other postpaid customers. This expansion aims to enable Yettel customers to help each other easily and quickly whenever they need extra data, even during the busy holiday season.
Additional gift gigabytes can also be obtained
Beyond the free gigabyte available once a month, the latest update also introduces a new feature. For a small fee of HUF 500 per occasion, customers can now send an additional 1 GB of data as many times as they like to multiple eligible Yettel subscriptions.
Particularly useful during the Christmas period
As the holiday season approaches, demand for mobile data tends to increase, as many people use their phones intensively while searching for gifts, navigating the city while shopping or looking online for the best deals. The extra 1GB of data available at this time of year – either once a month for free or multiple times at a favourable price – can be especially useful, helping holiday preparations run smoothly.

The “Throw a Gig” feature is available to eligible customers in the official Yettel app. (If the new feature does not appear in the app, please update to the latest version.) As well as the classic features, the app offers additional benefits, such as ongoing discounts of up to 20% on Yettel services, as well as useful and entertaining functions, including an AI-powered parking spot finder, convenient parking payment, a “Tuesday App Day” wheel of fortune offering a variety of coupons and extra discounts, and educational quiz games that make it worth returning to the app daily.
