Yettel reforms its discount scheme, customers win

Yettel’s customers can now choose the services they need to get discounts—without commitment.

Although bundling services such as TV, internet and phone has long been common in the domestic market, Yettel is introducing a new approach. Starting from today, customers will be able to choose the specific services they want to receive discounts on, without any commitment.

The structure of the consumer telecommunications market has changed significantly over the last two decades. Hungarian households are using more and more digital devices, even grandparents are online and the digital openness of the new generation is now an integral part of their lifestyle. According to the Hungarian ICT Report 2023[1], 94% of households use more than one telecommunications service and 38.1% use all four: mobile, internet, TV and fixed line.

Flexibility to choose the components of your discount package

Traditionally, services offered together for discounts have been pre-bundled, leaving customers with limited options and often paying for services they don’t need. Recognizing this need, Yettel is launching the Yettel Full plan on 22 October. This plan offers a monthly discount of up to 30% off Prime or OtthonNet subscriptions and can also include TV or streaming services. So, these are the services that can make up the discount package. Yettel Full does not require all three types of services (mobile, TV and home internet) to qualify for the discount; customers can use any combination of services and only need two subscriptions, such as two Yettel Prime or two OtthonNet plans. Their plan can also include Yettel TV (except Yettel TV XS), which is available at a 15% discount, and if customers prefer streaming, the Max subscriptions in the plan are also eligible for a 15% discount on the monthly fee. Another benefit is that there is no commitment for the discount and users of mobile subscriptions in the same plan can make free calls to each other in Hungary. The Yettel Full discount is available as long as there is at least one Prime and one OtthonNet plan on the billing ID and no service is suspended during the billing cycle.

“We’ve looked at the market and listened to our customers. We found that they're frustrated with unnecessary spending, and our offer addresses that. Just as we live in the same building, but have different homes, so too do our internet, TV and mobile usage habits. Yettel Full is designed to be flexible to individual needs, with flexible content. Our customers can get a meaningful discount with as few as 2 Yettel products, and by adding more services – even more subscriptions – they can enjoy a greater regular discount with savings of up to 30% per month,” said Olga Szafonov, Director of Consumer Segment at Yettel Hungary.
