In agreement with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM), Telenor Hungary made access to top education websites free for the term of the coronavirus lockdown from 27 November 2020. On 28 January 2021, the government announced the extension of the lockdown until 1 March. In response, Telenor also decided to provide free access to the relevant websites for a longer period. Schools can apply for laptops and notebooks
On 19 January, Telenor announced a new program called Digital Springboard (Digitális ugródeszka) for eight-grade primary schools in disadvantaged communities. Under the program, schools can apply for tablets and notebooks supporting digital education at a value of up to HUF 2 million. In addition to funding from a total budget of HUF 10 million, the winners can enrol in a 30-hour accredited HiperSuli Digital Methodology Course to acquire the skills necessary for digital teaching free of charge.
