In addition to the commonly used bank card and mobile phone payment solutions, frequent, small-amount transactions initiated from a mobile phone are becoming increasingly popular among Hungarian users. The number of users and purchases in this category continues to grow every year at Yettel, despite the service’s decade-long history. On average, 3% more users used this so-called micro-payment solution this year, and 5% more transactions were made compared to the same period last year. Within this segment, mobile parking has seen the biggest increase, up almost 10% over the period under survey. Last year, Yettel subscribers generated more than seven million transactions with mobile parking alone. Based on customer needs and research, and following extensive testing, Yettel has renewed and enhanced its mobile parking feature and then moved it to its official app, the Yettel app.
Easy-to-use app, practical parking monitoring solutions
The new feature in the Yettel app fully covers mobile parking needs, so the operator’s customers can now enjoy sophisticated convenience solutions, besides managing their telecommunication services in the app. The newly launched solution is very easy to use. You can complete a parking transaction with just 4 taps, and use a built-in map and live notifications to help you start, track and stop parking quickly and accurately. To further enhance your convenience, the app allows you to record data for multiple vehicles in a single user account, and name them individually.
The parking process is made even simpler and easier to follow with the app widget, an informative interface that can be placed on the phone’s main screen providing important information and parking features without having to open the app. The easy-to-read widget uses green, yellow and red colours on the phone’s main screen to show whether your parking is active, about to expire or expired. This makes it easier to avoid penalties for not noticing when a ticket expires or overpaying because you forgot to stop parking. If you use iOS, you can also set live notifications to check the status of your parking at a glance on your screen without unlocking the phone, which also helps you avoid unexpected and unpleasant extra charges. The app’s “Parking History” menu allows you retrieve and view your previous parking history.
Parking in the Yettel app is an internet-based feature, which means that an active internet connection (mobile or Wi-Fi) is required to start parking. There is no need to send text messages, as with mobile parking, so in addition to the benefit of convenience, you can also save the cost of sending text messages.

The new feature on the Yettel app will be rolled out to all customers in a phased manner until 5 December. The Yettel app is worth downloading now not just for the parking feature.
