Telenor launches Women’s Day social activity to appreciate women

Telenor helps those who would like to greet women with words of appreciation on Women’s Day with digital greeting cards. The cards are available to download and share on Telenor’s social media channels.

On 8 March, women are traditionally greeted with flowers in Hungary – but why do we celebrate them this way? Because this is how we do it. Though the International Women’s Day originally launched in honour of women’s rights movements can really be a celebration if it provides a real opportunity to acknowledge the achievement and success of women. This thought inspired Telenor’s Women’s Day consumer activity.

With the ’Give Appreciation, Not Only Flowers’ slogan Telenor inspires to greet women on this day with not only flowers but real appreciation to express respect toward them. On its Facebook and Instagram page, it publishes digital greeting cards that anyone can share, forward or download to greet women who are important to them. The concept has been developed by Artificial Group. Besides this, Telenor is launching a series of videos on its blog called Connected Life about women who play a key role in the success of the company.

Telenor is committed to creating a supportive environment which helps female employees in all areas of their work. Besides flexible work arrangements, it provides equal opportunities for female colleagues – every day of the year, not only on Women’s Day. Its important objective is to have women represent themselves at every level of the company. As part of this, since 2015, a dedicated team has been responsible for increasing the number of female leaders at Telenor Hungary, as the company believes that increased gender equality is a competitive advantage and creates value.

“Telenor’s success is delivered by a fantastic crowd of people. A special part of this team are the women who work here as engineers, controllers, at the Communication Department, in marketing, finance and customer service. The company is full of amazing women, and even out of the seven members of the leadership team, we have four very strong women. I’m very proud of the women working at Telenor, and happy to work with them. It’s amazing to see them growing, being confident and happy to work here, while they manage their family, kids and pets,” said Alexandra Reich, CEO of Telenor Hungary.
