The Facebook Page ‘Job-Seeking Dogs’ (www.facebook.com/allaskeresokutyusok/) includes the photo CV of 20 shelter dogs seeking a job, that is, a home and an owner. Golyó, a security guard, Ede, an HR manager and their buddies have applied to several jobs through e-mail, commented on open positions in Facebook Groups and put their CVs on lamp posts to let the world know how much they long for a good job.
“We love dogs. They are featured in our commercial spots and we also open our offices to them every Friday. Four-legged co-workers contribute to a good workplace atmosphere. This was the reason why we wanted to do something to help dogs who are not so lucky and don’t even have a home. We launched the Job-Seeking Dog campaign together with our creative agency, Artificial Group using a rather uncommon approach. The initial brandless communication enabled us to focus attention on dogs, the real heroes of the campaign, and we are very happy that they attracted so much attention in a few days’ time”, said Nóra Tumó, head of the marketing communication team responsible for the campaign at Telenor.
Telenor partnered with “Fogadjörökbe” Foundation for the campaign. This foundation helps shelter dogs find a new home on social media sites and supports their temporary adoption. It also raises funds and collects donations to support shelter development particularly in underdeveloped regions including the pet shelter in the town of Nyírmada. It has helped more than 300 dogs find a home to date and aims to increase the number of people willing to adopt dogs on a temporary basis as volunteers. Temporary adopters help the integration of shelter dogs so that they could be permanently adopted more easily.
“We rescued twenty dogs from the shelter in Nyírmada and placed them in a dog pension where they get the necessary veterinary attention and regular care. The Job-Seeking Dog ads run until every dog finds a home or a temporary adopter. The campaign also aims to raise awareness of the valuable support provided by temporary adoption”, said Noémi Vass, Marketing Communication Manager of Telenor.

It is not the first time dogs play a role in Telenor’s life. In 2013, the company supported the Vigyél Haza Foundation in developing the “Take Me Home” (Vigyél Haza) app, a smartphone app useful for dog owners and dog lovers alike. Being a dog-friendly workplace, Telenor gives employees an opportunity to take their dogs with them to the office every Friday which improves teamwork and workplace atmosphere. It also shares its experience to encourage other companies to hold dog-friendly days.
